Presented at the 2014 Whitney Biennial, and created by Miguel Gutierrez and performed by MG and Mickey Mahar, Age & Beauty Part 1: Mid-Career Artist/Suicide Note or &:-/ is the first of a new suite of queer pieces. THE BOY SONATA @ THE WILD PROJECT (195 E 3RD ST.) Justin Sayre’s heartbreakingly funny tribute to the voice of a child as he develops his individual understanding of the world. Mimicking sonata form, the series of monologues follow “The Boy” from age 6 to 17. Each one details a day, an hour, a moment when things become much more beautifully and tragically complicated. 8:00PM, $15.

 

CALENDAR GIRLS @ THIS ‘N THAT (108 N 6TH ST.) Lucy Balls and Untitled Queen’s new party rounds up each month’s holidays and celebrates them all at one. This month you’re getting Easter, Earth Day and Take Your Daughter to Work Day…although we’d be more interested in Take Your Drag Queen To Work Day. The competition is drawing to a close and only a few queens are left tottering on their six-inch heels: Charlene, Rify Royalty, Manifestany Squirtz, Chris of Hur, Aja and others will be tearing each other’s wigs off fighting for the crown. 10:00PM, FREE!

 

MIDNIGHT MAGIC – RESIDENCY! @ CAMEO (93 N 6TH ST.) The incredible new disco group Midnight Magic has invited two of our favorite DJs Sean B. and Gavin Russom to join them for a night of highs, lows and all the magic in between. 11:00PM, $12.

 

Saturday 4/25

XANADUDE @ BLACK BEAR BAR (70 N 6TH ST.) DJs Sean B, Deputy and special guest Christy Love want to make you BOUNCE on the dance floor.
